Fast paced environment

It was very fast paced. The company I worked for was not a good company to work for. The Purina employees themselves were very nice and offered great advice.

Live at work and visit home

There is absolutely no balance. Week are supposed to have ends. Four days off a month are not enough. Head of the plant knows that this has been a problem for a few years now but refuses to fix the problem. Management members boasts about never having called off in 28yrs but has three or more days off every week. He says it’s a good problem to have so much business but, given that it demands so much physically, we can’t keep new hires past their 90 period.

Fast paced environment with tons of recognition and great pay. I enjoy working with some pretty great people and they are always so helpful. Best pay in the area giving 3 raises in the first 16 months.

Good, they pay well. Bad is the schedule is always up in the air dont know if you work a 12 hr shift or 8.

Its A good place to work if you don’t have a life example when I first started out there I was working 12 hour shifts six days a week going at five get off at five. Sundays seem to drag more than others because they don’t have enough product so they have to wait till they make more product. You can’t trust anyone there because they all are trying to get in the new people fired. Management is sketchy kind of because it feels like they don’t even do there job. But on the flipside safety is huge they really do care about you like the HR department but the production managers they don’t care about you.

Excellent pay

Overall the pay is incredible at the Mechanicburg factory. There is a decent amount of overtime but it is normally not crazy. The job is not overly difficult.

Good pay lots of overtime

Largest pet food manufacturer in the US owned by Nestle(Switzerland). Good company with diverse workforce. Denver plant over 80 years old but has been continually upgraded and modernized.

Pay and benefits above average.

Contras

May work 80+ hours a week depending on the season and seniority level, Overtime is mandatory, Hourly positions given based on hourly seniorty bidding process.

If you are looking to make good money, completely dedicate your complete life to a company this is the one for you. Poor worklife balance and management is not aware of employees needs nor do they display that they care. Morale is poor.

Average

The pay and benefits for the area is above average. Work/life balance is not very good. Overtime is available. The factory is growing at a very fast rate.

Standing in one place packing dog food in a fast paced environment. Once you learn the routine the job gets easier. it is a clean and safe work area. Management makes sure all employees follow the safety guidelines.

The place itself great, ESB-the Rosenbergs...HORRIBLE!

The work requires a lot of sitting or standing. Very repetitive, There are so many GREAT people working there through ESB and Purina. It is segretory in that aspect though: ESB employees and Purina even though you work together day in and out. There is NO being hired on after so many days, you are forever working for the temp agency ESB and ESB better known as the Rosenbergs (misspelled possibly) are thee most disrespectful, rude, arrogant people I have ever met; and I have came across some winners. The rules apply when and how they want. The biggest slackers possible who show up 10-70% of the time and barely do their job at that: have the longest time. If you have ANY medical issue, don't let it occur on the job, even in break room: you'll be "laid off" after leaving you waiting weeks, even with a full release and no restrictions. But no reason why is given no matter how many different ways asked. Keep in mind: WEEKLY NEW HIRE GROUPS! Can't keep workers in plant, but "lay off" the ones there 100% of the time, do weekly overtime because 30% of the crew doesn't show.

Horrible management, will make you wait for your check to be mailed even if great employee, no direct deposit, no picking up check from office (which they print out at their office)

Poor place to work long term

If you are young and vital that is what they look for. Do not get hurt or old. The pay is great. If you are not part of the boys club or want to treat people well as any type of boss this is not the place for you. There was so much back stabbing and only if you are under a legal minority are you protected but not if your part of the lgbt community . There is no far way to work there and not be broken in the end they will throw you away .

Fast paced

Didnt work there long but its very fast paced and hot in the building. The line kept shutting down all night long. The breaks are too short to be able to smoke and use the bathroom before coming back to the work area. Helmet ear plugs and safety glasses are required.

Good place to work when they leave you alone

Good supervisors do look after you. Senior management lie and stab you in the back, not to be trusted... Good place to be if they got rid of the management that are there now!!!!

Great place to work

I loved working there. I would have never left if I didn't move. The only downside was you only got 32 hours a week. It was a first come first serve type of job so you had to show up promptly to work.

Great $$ awesome benefits

I've worked here for about 7 months now. Starting pay was $25.11/hr. Recently got a raise and am now making just under $26.00/ hr. Every one is very friendly. Managment has an open door policy which makes it very nice of you have any problems or concerns. Pentions are hard to find these days which is one of the biggest reasons why I chose to work here at nestle Purina.

Excellent Pay

Great pay, 401k and benefits. Very hard to have a personal life running from Halloween thru New Years with only Thanksgiving and Christmas off, but this brought in the big $$$ Great job security if you can tolerate the Manufacturing environment!
